On a warm autumn night, Katy and Jeff exchanged vows and celebrated their love in a myriad of festive ways at the Chrysler Museum of Art. It embodied all that they hoped for in a venue, from the beautiful space to the delicious cuisine. “We are supporters of the arts and loved the fact that the money spent would support the museum. We felt it was such fantastic value for such an aesthetically pleasing venue and loved the ease of using the Chrysler’s catering company, Cuisine & Company. They provided a completely vegetarian meal that even our meat-eating guests loved!” The autumn-themed reception embraced the tones of the season: dark brown and celery green with splashes of pumpkin orange and gold. The added graphic flourish (designed by the groom) of two vines intertwining was included on the website, Save the Date cards, invitations and gobo lights at the reception. Even their delicious white chocolate, amaretto and wild cherry cake with butter cream frosting had vines with autumn colored leaves and pumpkins on it, with a deep brown satin ribbon at the base of each tier. Floral displays throughout the room included vibrant green fuji mums and this color carried through to the bridesmaid bouquets. As a backdrop to her cymbidium orchid and green hypernium berry bouquet, Katy wore a champagne toned Maggie Sottero strapless lace-up ballgown with pick-up skirting and Swarovski crystals and beading. Her birdcage veil was embellished with crystals and champagne colored ostrich feathers, perfect for her “funky artsy style.” Jeff wore a custom tailored Scottish kilt with green fuji mum boutonniere. So what moved this couple most? Katy cherishes the personal moment of reading the vows they wrote for each other. For Jeff, it was their first dance. “It was the first time I felt we could be together in our own little world.” Their send-off said it all- guests gathered with moustache sticks and glo necklaces as the couple took off in a balloon-festooned rickshaw!
