WHERE IT ALL HAPPENED
The ceremony took place at the Los Suenos Resort Beach Club and the reception was ten minutes away on top of a hill over -looking the coast in Zephyr Palace at Villa Caletas Hotel.
SEASON OF CHOICE
They chose the date because the eighth of the month was significant to them- they met on 11.08.02. Because March is during Costa Rica’s high season, they hoped there would be very little rain for their outdoor wedding.
A FLORAL EVENT
Tropical flowers of Costa Rica were chosen for the wedding. Blooms native to the area with the colors purple, yellow, orange, green, red and pink provided a vibrant island feeling.
AND THE BRIDE WORE
A white strapless gown by designer Judd Waddell. The asymmetrical closely fitting gown with mermaid train was perfect for a destination wedding. “I stayed away from a heavy gown as well as a gown that might move too much in the wind. It was still formal enough for our outdoor tropical wedding.”
THOSE BRIDESMAIDS WERE DIVINE
The girls wore Watters in Adriatic, a beautiful blue green. The dupioni silk dress was strapless and knee-length, giving it an elegantly casual look perfect for the hot weather.
THE GROOM WORE
Due to the island heat, we went with suits for all the men instead of tuxes. The groom wore a cream Joseph and Feiss three-button silk suit ideal for beach weddings and brown ostrich shoes by Belvedere.
A MOMENT TO REMEMBER
When the bride first appeared through the curtain to go down the aisle and locked with her groom. Another moment was having their first dance and then witnessing the amazing fireworks. “Being on the mountain top, it felt like you could reach up and touch them…they were that close to us.”
THE CELEBRATION
The reception took place at a palace that was located on a mountain top overlooking the Pacific Ocean. The view was breathtaking at sunset. To capture the magic of the location, two different atmospheres were created for guests when it came to dancing and celebrating. The dining area overlooked the infinity pool as well as the ocean. On the terrace by the pool was a live band that played R&B, both old school and new. Down a flight of stairs was another balcony connected to a disco area where the DJ played hip hop.
THE FAVORS
When guests arrived after their long trip, a welcome bag was waiting for them in their room with goodies from the area like chocolate covered macadamia nuts, a bottle of rum, plantain chips and a painted keepsake box from Costa Rica.
THE PARTING MEMORY
Guests lined up to form a walkway to their suite which was located near the palace. Guests threw Flutter Fetti in the air! Their departure from Costa Rica was difficult because they continued to replay all the events that had taken place and it all seemed to happen so fast because they enjoyed themselves so much with family and close friends. “Everything seemed to be perfect.”
