Kate and Doug exchanged vows in the 50’ glass pavilion at the Indian River Plantation in Virginia Beach. A string trio played as the bridal party came across the bridge. A cascading waterfall that guests faced made the venue stunning. “We wrote our own vows. Doug’s were amazing and touching.” Colors for the spring event were olivine green, purple and brown. The groom and groomsmen wore brown suits, champagne colored ties and calla boutonnieres. Bridesmaids wore green strapless dresses with bubble hems, carrying purple and chartreuse hydrangeas. “My gown was shear at the top with just the right amount of sparkle. It was fitted through the hips with a tulle bubble hem. I knew Doug would love it as much as I did.”The reception continued at The Signature at West Neck. Guests were greeted by a piano player on a baby grand and handed wine glasses with “N” as keepsakes. Everyone danced the night away thanks to DJ Luke Barton. The cake was four tiered French vanilla with buttercream icing and edible pearls decorated with flowers. A moment to remember was hearing Doug sing a self-composed song to Kate. “Listening to him play is the best thing in the world and such a gift to me.” The couple departed through a cloud of bubbles blown by guests.
