Sam Hughes
Although Sam has been photographing weddings in the Hampton Roads area for over seven years, he has been happily married to his camera for much longer. After graduating college with a photojournalism degree, Sam embarked on a career of photographing for newspapers and magazines, where he was asked to photograph his first wedding. After many years, he left the journalism world and brought his family to Hampton Roads to strictly photograph weddings. It’s been a blast ever since. Lisa Kob
Lisa is a freelance food writer in St. Paul, MN. Her bridal career is the result of a life-long love of wedding cake. Lisa’s passion for food is central to everything she does, especially her writing. When it comes to reception menu planning, she hopes her enthusiasm inspires others. “A wedding’s flavor should reflect the couple. My goal is to help them find creative ways to include their tastes in the celebration.” When asked why she is drawn to writing for a bridal magazine she says, “I get to plan these delicious parties in my head over and over again. For someone with an active imagination, it’s really quite a treat.” Her take on candy treats is delicious in Sugar Rush (page 50).

Eleise Theuer
For Eleise, there’s nothing like traveling around the country shooting gorgeous weddings and special people. Based in Norfolk, this portrait and wedding photographer has a special love for puffy gowns, birdcage veils and extravagant flowers. Echard Wheeler
Born and raised in Louisiana, Echard grew up immersed in a diverse and eclectic environment. His love of photography flourished as he tried his best to document it all and when he relocated to Virginia 18 years ago, he knew his heart was in photojournalism. When he’s not photographing brides and grooms, you can find him at the beach coaxing seagulls with stale bread, skateboarding or surfing with his daughter or hunting for a vegetarian restaurant on the occasional date night with his wife, Leesa.
